DELTEQ started operations in 1992, as the IT arm of the Wuthelam Group, a Pan Asia-Pacific conglomerate. Armed with a strategic alliance with Hewlett Packard, Singapore, Koh Boon Hwee, ex-managing director of HP and Chen Siak Chan, ex-marketing director of HP saw the opportunities in providing quality systems integration services. In the our first two years of operations, we were successful in establishing relationships with reputable clients in the banking and finance, government, manufacturing and telecommunications sectors. | In 1994, we decided to move up the value chain. We invested in building state-of-the art technical support infrastructure and skill sets. We formed strategic alliances with world-class hardware and software providers. We started providing project management and consulting services in addition to systems integration services. Our initiatives paid off and we increased our client base significantly doubled in 1994. We kept up the pace of innovation in applying sophisticated technologies to businesses, evolving from computer networks to database applications, to client-server architectures, and then to our current focus on SOA and multi-tier solutions and services. In 2001, we made all preparations for a main board listing but held back at the final moment when the dot com started to crash. In all, we survived through 1997 Asia financial crisis, 9/11, dot com downturn and SARS to become a leaner and prudent outfit competing in the enterprise clientele environment. Today, with our experience in the enterprise market, we are extending our business and solutions to benefit the broader-based SMB market. |
